EDUCATION
Graduated from Rutgers Law School – Newark, New Jersey, where in my last year, I worked as an extern for the Honorable Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr., then of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. I’ve also attended and graduated from Hampton University, where I made lifelong friendships that have evolved into a tremendous network of professionals.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office
I defended the State of New Jersey and its many departments and agencies, as well as, State officials and employees when sued in any tort (personal injury) lawsuit and many civil rights lawsuits.
Assistant Federal Public Defender in Harrisonburg and Alexandria, Virginia
I represented clients accused of federal crimes in the United States District Court for the Eastern District and Western District of Virginia. I handled 100s of cases ranging from bank and wire fraud, conspiracy, drug distribution, guns and violent crimes. I have successfully taken cases to jury trials, bench trials and favorable guilty pleas.
Private Practice in Roanoke Virginia
I practiced in all levels of State court handling criminal and civil matters. I represented clients charged with misdemeanor and felony charges. I also represented clients who were injured at the hands of others - in automobile accidents or slip and fall resulting from unsafe conditions.
OUTSIDE THE LAW
I’m a girl dad who Ubers my daughter around to swim meets and violin recitals. Also, I’m a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Incorporated, an avid golfer, and I love hanging out with family and friends.
